So I wanted to get some stud earrings for the wife, I wanted to choose really nice stones, so here is what I got
Stone 1 Stone 2
GIA GIA
0.63 0.62
5.51x5.54 5.52x5.55
x3.43 x3.38
H SI1 H SI1
Cut Ex Ex
pol Ex Ex
sym Ex Ex
Fl none none
T 54 56
d 62.1 61.1
ca 34.0 34.5
pa 40.8 40.6
gir med thin -med

14k yellow gold 3 prong martini settings - 1.25 ctw - $3000. The diamonds are eye clean, and quite white. I chose this size because it seems that prices drastically rise once you go over this size. I wish I could do bigger but these are a great size. So do you folks think this is a good deal ?? What do you think of the diamonds. (GIA certs states one stone has a crystal, and other a cloud) Thanks in advance

I think you did well:

Cut: GIA EX or AGS/0 are safe. GIA is a little soft for steep/deep crown/pavilion combo that "could" have negative effect when set on settings that block the light entering from the pavilion such as bezel. But your choices are rather shallow side which are good for studs which are not subject to head obstruction. Very good. Spread of these diamonds are good too.

Color: H IMO is very good for the size and the purpose.

Clarity: Since you have seen them in person, there should be no problems. But let us make sure that the potentially clarity grade setting "cloud" does not slow the brightness of the diamonds.

Price: I cannot give you an absolute answer for that. But to me it is reasonable.

Thanks for your input

What a nice hubby you are!! I, too, think that is a great size! And it looks like those are very nice in all respects!
