I am hoping for some inspiration!

Mr K and I are celebrating our 10th anniversary next year and I would very much like a large (3-4ct) diamond ring to wear on my right hand. We discussed a remake of my engagement ring (1.5ct G VS1 Radiant cut in a legacy style halo setting) to incorporate an additional halo of pink diamonds, something like this piece of gorgeousness from Leon Mege: https://www.artofplatinum.com/vault/double-halo-pink-diamonds-micro-pave-engagement-ring but he is very anti me touching my engagement ring for a reset. I understand his point of view (although I would like the pink diamond option) so for now I am looking at a right hand ring.

The problem is I don't think I want it to look like another engagement ring. I have seen so many wonderful upgrades and resets here but because this will be a right hand ring I want it to look a little more unusual. Well, that's my current line of thinking!

In my research I came across this ring from Steven Kirsch which I really like: http://www.stevenkirsch.com/engagement/halo/r0138.html I'm not usually a huge fan of marquise diamonds but I really like this. It's classic yet unusual and looks less like an engagement ring than your usual halo. Which led me to the idea that I might like other cuts, like ovals, set east-west too.

So does anyone have east-west set diamonds for me to draw some further inspiration from?

Thanks in advance!

I rather love stones set east-west, I'll come back and add some for you that I've found on PS over time.

In the meantime, this is my original ering, an oval. If you do east-west in an oval or marquise, all I'll say is be very careful about the bow tie. East west settings tend to make a bowtie more noticeable.

Thanks Jereni. Your engagement ring is beautiful (although I am very much in love with your sapphires as well). I see your point about the bow tie. That might make it significantly harder to find a diamond in our price range in the carat weight we are looking at. A marquise or oval I wouldn't buy without seeing "in the flesh" anyway so a few days in NYC may not be enough...

I am also contemplating an old or antique cut or perhaps a yellow diamond (yes, lots and lots of ideas floating around over here!) so will continue with my research.

In the interim, I came across these beauties overnight:

And there were loads on the Kwiat website which were stunning, but perhaps a bit too delicate for everyday wear...?

I don't have an east/west setting. But if you are looking for some inspiration for a great right hand ring check out Mark Silverstein.

My setting is from there but I love alot of things from there. He also works with mixed metal combinations as well as the PINK diamonds.

Good luck

Thank you for starting this thread. A while ago, over in CS, someone posted a thread on E/W marquise. Up until then I had never even considered them but after seeing how they looked when set E/W, I've been wanting to find some kind of marquise and set it that way. I suppose you can do the same with ovals but there is a delicacy that a marquise has that an oval just does not. That said, you have chosen some gorgeous statement piece settings. This will be a fun thread to watch.

what size is your finger? I had considered E-W for my anniversary reset but I realized I have much more room length wise vs width wise and 3-4 carats in that cut could be very long esp w a halo :) I do love the unique look though of e-w! Have fun designing!!
