How likely is it that my RB diamond (in an engagement ring) and pear shaped diamonds (in leverback earrings) were damaged after being dropped on my bathroom tile floor?

I accidentally dropped these on the bathroom floor and am freaking out now about whether I have damaged these stones (all very nice and high quality) and am kicking myself for being so stupid.

:((

Thoughts?

Do you see any damage? Cracks, chips, bent metal?

I dropped my pave band on the tile floor in the bathroom once. You should've seen that poor thing bounce. One stone fell out and I had it repaired.

Take it to your jeweller to be checked. He'll be able to tell better than you (although you can loupe them).
Diamonds have to drop just the right way to crack or be damaged, though that can happen. They have some plane of cleavage or something? Experts can chime in here and explain this properly. But what it means is that it's partly a matter of luck whether they hit or dropped on exactly the right spot for damage--not really a question of how hard the bathroom floor is or anything.
I hope nothing happened. If you can't see any problems, probably nothing did.

Take this chance to be sure everything is insured properly. Diamonds SHOULD be insured against accidental damage.

I don't see any chips or damage with the naked eye, but I haven't had time to look with a loupe yet.

The engagement ring is insured, but I just received the earrings so there's no insurance on those (not sure if I should get insurance? they're from Kwiat total weight 1.5 pretty high color and clarity).

If I look with a loupe, will any damage be easily identifiable and seen?

Damage to the center diamonds should be unlikely depending on the magnitude of the fall. You should take it to a local jeweler so that they could further inspect it with a loop and check to make sure that all the prongs and diamonds are in shape. Something could have cracked or become loose, so it's best to make sure.

Thanks for all the responses.

I wish I weren't so OCD about stuff like this :(sad
