Hi everyone - wonder if you can help me out.

About a month ago I bought for my mum a gift of a pair of Whiteflash diamond earring jackets made to fit up to a 0.5 ct stone in each jacket. The diamonds in the jacket are F/G and VS quality. Her current studs are 0.25ct each (bought pre-Pricescope...) but look somewhat yellow and dull now in comparison to the sparkly jackets! There is an airline with this size stone which she quite likes.

So the current search is for a diamond pair to complement the jackets. This means a slight increase in size to about 0.3ct each. We've looked on Blue Nile here in the UK and found a couple of pairs that look like they would fit the bill, but would appreciate your expert opinions in helping select the best pair.

Budget is up to £1500 ($2200 roughly, including taxes). Desire is for stones of similar colour and quality to those in the melée.

This is what we've found:

Is there one of these pairs that is significantly better than the other at a cursory glance, or should we proceed with further enquiries on both?

Many thanks a for your help!

Both look fine..the second pair is larger and signature ideal which is nice, but will they look at them and make sure they are eyeclean? The stones are small, though, so you probably can't see inclusions. If it were me, I'd be looking at G VS2 to maybe get a little more size since the jackets are F-G.

Hi diamondseeker

Thank you very much for your reply. I was worried about the colour difference between the melée and the centre stone showing, but a slightly lower colour and bigger stone certainly sounds good.

Good point about getting them checked - we'd certainly call up and ask for them to be looked at to have the comfort that they're eye clean even though the stones are relatively small (mum only has small ears, so can't have anything too large sadly!)

We will no doubt be back :)
