I have a budget b/t $1,000 and $2,000 for a pair of diamond studs for men. I'm planning to buy the studs first and then bring them to the piercing shop and get my ears pierced so I can wear them right away. I have a few questions regarding the diamond earring:

1. I know after I get my ears pierced I will have to ear the studs for at least 2 months, so I was wondering if I can go swim on daily basis with my diamond earring?

2. After the first 2 months, how many days of the week do I have to ear studs/earrings to prevent my ear from growing back?

3. I'm clueless when I was checking out the diamond studs... What kind (size, shape, color) would you recommend for a budget of one to two grand?

Thanks in advance!

You have 2 issues here - learn about the ear piercing process and learn about diamonds. I'd google the piercing thing because I thought most stores have a basic stud they use - it fits in a little 'gun' and not sure if a diamond would work or not in there (no knowledge AT ALL on this process so check that out)

some people react to different metals. Do you have any known metal allergies? Is it safer to go with YG? WG? Platinum? check that out, too.

The ear itself will react to the trauma, so it will get 'crusty' on occasion and look inflamed. Not the most flattering start to diamond wearing!

As for the diamonds - what mm diameter are you looking for? Subtle - you have a good budget for that? Rapper OTT bling out? - there's a decision to make first. You could find really bad diamonds in "rapper OTT" for $2K.

I would advise wearing basic studs (the type they put in the piercing gun) until your piercings heal. Then wear the diamonds.

Are you set on wearing a pair of studs? You could get a more substantial single stud for your budget rather than two smaller stones in a pair. Just a thought :))

You shouldn't swim for about six weeks while your ears heal after the piercing. The bacteria in the pool could cause an infection. In general, it's best not to swim while wearing diamonds and precious metals, as the chlorine can affect them.

Probably only a few days.

You're probably going to get around 0.75ctw to 0.90 with reasonable quality diamonds for that budget. Round diamonds work best because you won't have to make sure they're "straight" like you would other cuts (because the earrings will spin in the piercings).

Thanks in advance!

I'd advise you to wear the studs you get from the piercing place until your holes have healed. Then, switch out for diamond studs. If I remember right, you need to take the earrings out several times a day and swab with rubbing alcohol while the holes are healing.
