When looking at round, diamond stud earrings, is there much of a difference in a pair of earrings that are .75 ct tw and a pair that is 1 ct tw?

Of course, I would like a large pair, but they don''t have be headlight large, just substantial. Thank you.

I think you'd see a difference if you had one in one ear and the other in the other, but not necessarily in a vacuum, when you don't have them next to each other to compare.

Check out the "show me your diamond studs" thread sticky in SMTR, there's tons to oggle and you can even pass it off as researching your project

yssie, that was the perfect reply! Thank you so much! Very helpful. Maybe I was wrong about not wanting headlights after viewing some pictures. Sigh.

I think it also depends on your setting as well, if you had .75ctw bezel it may look like 1ctw four prong or martini set.

ETA: I also think Lobe size definitely play big part, I have small dainty lobes that my .62 ctw bezel set studs really look almost at least 1ctw

I tried on a 0.75 carat total weight pair last night and I thought they were definitely noticeable. Then again, I''ve only owned a pair of 0.25 carat total weight princess cut studs before so a 0.75 carat total weight pair is enormous in comparison! It seems to me that cut grade would play a lot in the role of how eye-catching your studs are. If I had a choice of 0.25 carat total weight AGS000 studs or 1 carat total weight but a much lesser cut grade I would go for the smaller, perfectly cut pair any day.

I have .5 in each ear and I think they look small. I would like .75 in each ear.

Some of the studs on one of the whiteflash say they''re not eligible for trade-up. Which makes me think - some are. Does anyone know of any online vendors that allow for tradeups? That would be the perfect answer for me!

If you buy them as loose stones from the in house stones, usually they are available for upgrades. Ready set to go are not.

When I got my .5 studs I had finally decided to buy a pair of earrings I could wear. My other pair are 1.25 carats each and droop (even though I have large earlobes). The .5 look small. (Yay!!!!!)

I was just kidding when I said these looked, "small". They were "small" compared to my 1.25 carat ones (and blissfully so), but they are (in my estimation) substantial. They are the perfect size for me.
