Hi, PS diamond experts. I am helping my aunt purchase some earrings for her daughter's graduation and wanted to get your expert opinions. She is looking to spend about $1k on a set, white gold 4 prong or martini set and wants D-I color, SI 1 or 2 quality, and excellent or ideal cut. It would be easier if we could find some preset ones, but I know WF doesn't offer upgrades on those and an upgrade policy would be nice for the future. I have emailed GOG for a quote as well. Any other suggestions? Thanks!

I wonder if since these are a graduation gift if she''d ever want to upgrade them. I know I would not because of the sentiment behind them. For that price she can get a very decent size of earrings too.

I have some of the WF ready set to go studs and they are wonderful. WF, GOG, James Allen and Brian Gavin seem to be very popular with PS members.

I agree with marcy, I think the ready set go sets are great and I doubt she''d want to upgrade them if they are a graduation gift. I think these are fabulous!!!

Plus for that budget you can get pretty sizable studs, she may not want to upgrade them for that reason alone. I have petite ears and can''t imagine wearing studs bigger than .3-.4 each. They just end up looking silly on me and make my ears look even smaller.

Thanks, Marcy and Callisto. I sent her the link to the WF RSG earrings. Now I just have to convince her to buy online!

I would check out BGD too. Here is a pair that would probably look good together:

I know one is an I and the other a J, but I recently bought a set from them that was an I and a J, and I can''t tell them apart. I had mine set in platinum bezel settings, and I''m pretty happy with them. Their martini or basket setting is pretty reasonably priced too.

I think that puts the set just slightly over the $1000 budget, but the diamonds are upgradable.
