Hello!! Havent posted here in quite awhile.... You guys probably thought I fell off the diamond loving planet!! But I know when I have a diamond dilemma you all always come to the rescue!! Anyhow Im getting ready to have some custom hoops made and cannot decide on which size stone to use in them- I know for sure they will be 45 mm in diameter so like 1.75 inches (i think thats right :) with shared prongs,, and Im debating either using 20 pointers or 25 pointers....what do you guys think? I keep leaning toward the 25 so less stones will be used but Im not sure if they will be too big but then if I get the 20 pointers Im afraid I will wish I got the 25s...Opinions?

This might be useful.

I generally prefer larger stones, but in this case would pick the 20 pts size. The main reason is the large size of your hoop (=45mm diameter). If it were smaller, say 1.5" diameter, then I would go for the larger 25 pts daimonds. The smaller size diamonds would give an overall modern and sleek look, whereas the bigger diamonds might give a gaudy and cubersome look. Make sure the cut is tideal, top cut. With brilliant daimonds, the thinner hoop will be head turning for sure.

Although large diamonds would require less stones, I would think that the total price would be substantially higher if you go with large diamonds. Perhaps get a price quote for both before you decide, unless price is no object in this case.
