I''m getting a ring from WF. This will be a 3 stone ring. 2 side stones are about .2ct and there are going to be channel set on the sides of the band (each channel set stone about .03).

All are to be round brilliant.

What size center stone would you suggest? I''ve seen a couple of possibilities between .6 and .72
Will these look too big in comparison to the side stones?
Would it be better to stick to something closer to .5ct?

Its a matter of taste, any of the sizes you mention could work. Do WF have any CADS ready for your approval of the design?

We''re just starting that process. The sales guy I''ve been working with asked if I had a center stone I liked.

I originally thought I wanted at least .75ct, but after looking through the comparisons here and the diamonds they have available, I''m not so sure any more. I think something clocer to .65 would be the best compromise between size & cost and still allow for reasonable quality.

(trying to keep center stone under $1800 without sacrificing quality)

The center size is your personal taste and what you think looks good. Some people like the center to be noticeably larger others prefer the side stones to be closer to the size of the center.

Hi,

Maybe this will help:
http://www.sizeasy.com/

I used it to compare princess diamond sizes by entering the diamond sizes, and comparing them to a CD, then resize the image to a real CD size an thats it...
I am currently planning to do a stand alone version of this where instead of colored shapes you actually get a finger a diamond image :-)

Thanks for the link. This was a help in picturing how they''d look together.

I love the other charts and pictures, but it was nice to enter the actual dimensions and get an idea of how it would look.

Hi TooPatient! I think it all depends on the look you want from your ring. I like the look of a .65 with side stones of .20 according to that link, but what really matters is what *you* like! Good luck!

I liked the .65 with .2 also based on that website.

WF would probably send me a picture of the side stones with a couple of centers to help me decide?
Got a few I''m looking at. WF hasn''t rated them yet so there isn''t much info. I need to contact them and get them to rate the stones.

I''ll post pictures when they''re available. My diamond knowledge is getting there, but I''d love to hear what everyone here thinks before I make any final decisions on center stone.

Stones I''m looking at range from .62 to .68
