diamond set too deep in bead setting lose sparkle?

i got a cross but i think the diamonds are set too deep in the bead setting (to make it small size bead appearance) it doesnt seem to sparkle too well, is this because the diamond set too low in bead setting in the cross? or is it just the diamond quality
