Hello All,

I'm looking to pick up an e-ring soon but I'm finding it difficult to chose a diamond online. I've been reading forums trying to understand what to look for, but now that I'm actually looking at some options, I find that I'm don't know whether the diamonds are any good or not :(

Here are my criteria: 1ct, I or above, SI1 or above (as long as close to eye-clean). Will be setting the stone in a halo.
If I set my budget for ~$5500, do you guys think this is possible?

I see this on JA:
https://www.jamesallen.com/loose-di...i-color-vs1-clarity-excellent-cut-sku-2589573

Can I get some opinions on the link above?

Thanks in advance!

Hi there and welcome :wavey:

Is the $5500 just for the stone? I am presuming so given the stone you linked to is already close to that amount.

That stone has some pretty safe stats for most things. It's right on the border of AGS 000 status and with a HCA score of 1.9 so that's a good start. Based on the video at JA, the centre of the stone looks a little hazy/fuzzy so I'm wondering whether the strong blue fluor is having a negative impact on transparency in this instance. I'm also wondering whether or not there is some leakage as two of the arrows are not exhibiting any contrast whatsoever (an Idealscope image would help out with determining if there is leakage or not).

I'll take a look through some of the other vendors inventories and see if I can find some stones for your consideration and within your budget.

I didn't even notice the hazy/fuzzy look in the centre until you mentioned it. Also, do you know if JA provides Idealscope images on request?

Is my budget unreasonable? I'm pretty set on the criteria of the stone, so I'm willing to be flexible.

JA does provide them on request, but best to find a few stones first before you request. I think it's like 3-4 IS images they can get for you.

I think it is possible. Might have a few more options if the budget went up to $6k but let's have a crack at the ~$5.5k budget first. Are you wedded to JA for the purchase or are you open to other vendors like Whiteflash, Blue Nile, Enchanted Diamonds, etc?

Wow, thanks guys, the options you guys found are really nice!
I'm not sure how I missed those while browsing JA myself.
