Hi All!

I have been excitedly running through all information on Pricesope since getting engaged in early December. I was initially completely bamboozled by all information diamond related, however I now feel somewhat more enlightened & overwhelmed in equal measure and have gotten slightly obsessive with the different diamond characteristic and how the result in a brilliant sparkly diamond (its clear I never listened in Physics class).

I'm hoping you can help as I think I am beginning to get to a stage where I am over analysing/ loosing my mind, which isn't ideal considering my knowledge is limited & recent, but I'm really keen for my fiancés hard earned cash to go on something that's the best value.

I am a complete diamond novice but have set out the following criteria

Diamond criteria

Carat - 1.6+ nice spread - Round brilliant
Colour - H +
Clarity - SI2 (Good quality SI2) +
Cut - Excellent - No compromise on this
Budget - My fiancé has allotted a generous budget of £10,000 for the ring. I'm based in the UK so any stone coming from the US will incur 20% VAT (albeit I have contemplated flying to New York for a day to pick up a stone - I think I may be going crazy:-) )
HCA score ideally of 2 or less
Band - tiffany style knife edge 6 prong

Your help and advise would be much appreciated.

In order to help your request for help:

10000£ = 14200 USD (total budget)
2000£ = 2800 USD (VAT)
8000£ = 11400 USD (for both setting and center stone)

Is it right @Ladystylista?

I should have done the calc sorry, as the tax is applied once it arrived in the UK It works out at a few $ more to spend on the ring

10000£ = 14200 USD (total budget 120%)
1670£ = 2380 USD (VAT 20%)
8330£ = 11820 USD (for both setting and center stone)

I have also been looking on bluenile uk website which included the tax element.

Also I have heard some brand do valentine sales, if this is on stones it could help greatly!

Thanks for clarifying.

Stones are rarely discounted, settings in the other hand..

You will find a recent thread about Valentines Day.

My recommendation, since you’re located in UK is to search James Allen and Whiteflash. BN doesn’t provide ASET’s for diamonds, and online shopping is difficult enough, yet more compounded by lack of visual aids to narrow your search. WF has AGS000 Super Ideal Diamonds. So does @Wink of HPD.
I’d start there...
