Hi! I have been a member on Pricescope for 10 years, more of a lurker. I did have to renew my subscription recently, not sure why.

I have been helping my son search for a diamond. He's in Florida. We came across this one. Quoted $8,900.

Trying to attach the GIA report ...

What is a good reason that the GIA report is from 2007? Ten year old diamond. Maybe someone traded it in for upgrade? Should we be concerned?

What are your thoughts on this diamond?
Fiancee's requirements:
G or better
VS2 or better (this diamond is SI1)
XXX or 000
1.20+ carat
Budget under $10K

Thank you in advance!=)2

So sweet of you to be helping your son find a diamond, he has a great mom!
Many reasons why an old report may exist- upgrade, old stock, in company case, I would not recommend purchasing without a renewed report, many things might have happened to the diamond in the past 10years (read chips, etc.)
Alright, this is not a diamond with a great cut, the pavilion angle is too steep. The parameters tha your son should stay in are the following:

Table: 54-58
Crown angle: 34-35
Pavilion angle: 40.6-40.9
Depth: 60-62

Does he only want to shop locally, or is he open to shopping online? We can help you help him find a great stone that does not have a 10year old GIA report.

Thank you! He's been looking locally. If we can't find anything in FL, then Whiteflash or GOG is on our list. Online is fine. I live on the other side of the US so we could make a trip and meet each other somewhere. He's a pilot so that's no problem.

I was thinking the same thing about the old cert. She's pretty stuck on a Gabriel & Co setting but something tells me Whiteflash may have something similar. :Up_to_something2:

I appreciate all of your expertise and diamond search!! Thank you so much!

Another vote for the stone! Gorgeous!

You should put it on hold for him ASAP if you/he haven't already!
