Hi all,

Just based on this, what sort of performance would you expect from this diamond?

More brilliance than fire. Depth and crown angle both on the shallower side. Possibility of some light leakage.

More of a 60/60 style look with brightness over fire more of the time.
Unless there is some wonk or twist unlikely to have any abnormal leakage.
I would call it shallowish crown and steep side of normal pavilion.
They compliment each other well for the 60/60 look.

I should have added this.

Shows signs of potential pavilion twist, need IS/ASET to confirm or deny.
Also has a lot of internal graining.

What is pavilion twist?

BTW, that was taken from a video.

Cut wide ranging pavilion angles then they twist the lowers in 3d space to keep the EX lab symmetry grade.
It results in variation between the arrows not explained by lighting and can be eye visible.
Some people are more pattern sensitive than others so it will bug some people more than others.

What would you all think of this one instead? It's the same size, color, and clarity. 2.75 ct, F, VS2

This one also adds Heart & Arrows.

is that a dark inclusion at 7 o'clock in the middle of the table?

Also not a good choice. As these are lab diamonds you'll need to move the thread to the MMD subforim. We are happy to help you find a much better alternative!

Besides the one inclusion visible, what makes this one a poor choice?

Yes. It's there, but hides well in the video. Not that I'd be able to see it at actual size, anyway.

Hi, Wolfe!
There is evidence of pavilion twist (red circles) that can/will appear as spots of leakage and some evident internal graining (yellow circles) with this one...quite a bit of risk of interrupting the clean flow of light within the diamond.

Wow, with all that I'm surprised it's still an H&A.

The H&A on most IGI reports use stock images. We'd want to see actual images to verify if it's true H&A.

Does Brilliance.com even offer ASET or IS pics?

If you can sort through and find a HPHT without a funky blue or gray nuance, they are without the internal graining. CVD can be clean too, but if you see any of the slanted lines like streaks on the window, pass - you want that shimmery clean look in your diamond.

Highly doubtful, since they probably drop-ship from the distribution network instead of having their inventory in-house.

I was not able to get one through them when I tried, but that may be the vendor, not Brilliance.
