Diamond Prices Over the Years?

I keep hearing about how diamonds are going up in price (and will continue to do so). As a glutton for punishment, can someone give me some ideas of what I would have paid for a 1.5 carat EC (say G,H, I, J, K) in VS1 or VS2 over the past few years. Maybe when prices were at their lowest and say now? Just to get a sense of the increases for us newbies? Discouraging, but it does keep me wondering...

Jeez Louise. Looks like I've missed my moment for sure, by about 3 years.

... but future prices may climb even higher and make today's prices look like a bargain.
