Hey there. I'm pretty new to the diamond game and I have the choice of three...any idea which might be best? They are all pretty similar but one is a hair cheaper (bearing in mind there's a markup of course). I was getting some help on Reddit as well and I was told that the cuts are maybe not the best I can find...I'd love opinions on it. The ring designer likes old Euro cut diamonds so that's what they favor. Maybe hard to figure out without pics, but thanks very much for your advice!

Option 1 - 1.02c - http://www.gia.edu/cs/Satellite?pag...&c=Page&cid=1355954554547&reportno=5151481803

Option 2 - 1.12c, $2500 more than option 1 - http://www.gia.edu/cs/Satellite?pag...&c=Page&cid=1355954554547&reportno=2165950556

Option 3 - 1.02c, $3000 more than option 1 - http://www.gia.edu/cs/Satellite?rep...ename=GIA/Dispatcher&c=Page&cid=1355954554547

I was looking at $8-$10k, but they haven't separated out the ring cost vs. the stone. Thanks.

Two of these diamonds are Old European cuts and not really at all similar to the modern round brilliant. I can not comment on the merits or demerits of the individual diamonds due to forum rules, but I will say that OECs should be looked at with the right to return if you do not like them.

I personally LOVE the large flashes of light and the incredible dispersion that they can show. I walk away quickly if they do not have this wonderful quality. Numbers on the page for OECs will not tell me what I want to know about it. You MUST SEE IT WITH YOUR EYES to know if you love it or not.

You mention you have the choice of these three... are you working with a specific jeweler who will only source these stones? Or are you open to buying the stone and setting separately? As Wink mentioned, for OECs you (and we) really need to see photos to be able to help. Have you seen these in person?

Hi Wink & Virginia. I appreciate the info. and insights very much! Here are some pics of the ones in the running, but your point on looking elsewhere for the stone is certainly valid! These are the ones that the ring designer suggested when we met with them:
