Diamond Pendant Project

Hi all,

I would like to have a pendant made for me - and am looking at a diamond solitaire with a halo, similar to the below, but with a diamond in the middle.

1. Can anyone recommend a vendor to make this? I am currently looking at Whiteflash and Brian Gavin, both who have made rings for me in the past. Whiteflash have recommended their tacori pendant setting for this project.
2. Regarding selecting a diamond, what parameters should I be looking for? I would like the center stone to be close to 1.5 carats, excellent cut, G as the minimum colour, and SI2 for clarity, as long as it is eye clean. Does this sound reasonable? Willing to sacrifice a bit in colour and clarity to get a bigger stone.
3. Can around recommend any loose diamonds which fit the above, looking not to spend more than 10K on this
4. Would also like to minimise the necklace flipping - is there anything that I can request to make it less prone to this?

Hi There,
Just about heading to bed & saw your thread. As for the setting, it’s not a complicated one & I would contact David Klass to make it. He’s pretty reasonable & you might have more money for your stone. You can also check with ID Jewelry as well.

I tried searching B2C jewels but the search engine kept changing the dollar amount. Annoying. Someone will be able to help I’m sure. Could be cause I’m on my phone.

Checked Blue Nile & didn’t come up with any good G’s. Great SI-2’s are hard to come by.
I’ll attach a couple screen shots. Plug in the item # & you’ll be able to see the listing. Found 4 stones.

Here’s the link to the 1.61 I, VS-2 I like this one. It’s not precision like Whiteflash or Brian Gavin but looks like it will perform pretty good. An I in a pendant shouldn’t be an issue. I had David Klass use H melee for my J halo & looks great.

I like the stone which you suggested, but do you think it would be better to go up a bit in colour, and go down in clarity? I don't know if a VS2 would be necessary?

Is it also necessary that the stone has a good HCA score as well?
