I have been very happy working with Lesley and Brian on re-cutting my old engagement diamond. It started out with 98 points, with an I-1 clarity and J-K color with strong blue fluorescence and a very thick girdle. It is a very deep cut diamond which I wore for 29 years and deserves to shine as much as my replacement ring. Brian is going to set it into a halo pendant so I can resume wearing this very special diamond. Brian and Lesley have been fabulous and sensitive to the sentimental value this diamond has for my husband and me.
The before images are of the actual diamond. The after images on the bottom are the virtual images, generated in DiamondCalc, of how Brian has estimated the stone will look after the recut. As soon as the recut is done we'll e-mail all the images to novicebuyer to share.
The diamond is expected to weigh about .814 carat after the recut. The table is going from 3.51 to 3.42 mm, which will hardly be noticeable. The depth will go from 4.09 to 3.67 mm. I will post pictures of the pendant as soon as I receive it. It is more important to me that the diamond looks great than that it weighs a certain amount. I am very excited that I will be able to wear the diamond once again since it has been sitting in a jewelry box since I bought the replacement ring as a direct result of joining Pricescope. So many people are so helpful and thoughtful here.
I am extremely pleased with the recut of my original engagement diamond. Lesley and Brian were absolutely delilghtful to deal with and I wish them the best with their new company.
your post thrilled me. I too am having them recut two stones. One of them is my orginal stone. I miss it and want to wear it in a pendant tooooo!!! Your stone turned out BEAUTIFUL! I am sooo excited for you WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Thanks to everyone for their kind comments. I appreciate them. One last image to encourage others thinking of getting their diamond recut, even if it is a J-K, I-1 like mine.
