hiii, i would like to know which is better to purchase, a GVS2 or HVS1diamond, if both are 0.5 carats GIA certified, i don't really know which is better to base a choice on colour or clarity...

This section of the forum doesn't get a lot of views. Hit the 'report concern' button at the top right of your post and ask the moderator to re-post your question to Rocky Talky section.

Also, you should add the GIA certificate information for each stone which will provide more information for members.

At that clarity both will be eye clean. So why pay for something you can't see (clarity)? You CAN see color, and I'd rather have a G than an H. BUT it all depends on how well they are cut. Can you post the numbers for us?

Agree with the others, we need a link to the GIA report or the proportions, table, depth, crown and pavilion angles. Include the dimensions of each stone as well.

thanks alot everyone, ill get back to you with the details soon :)

First, you evaluate the cut quality. That's where brilliance, fire, and scintillation come from.

At .5ct or even 1ct size round brilliant, there probably is not a whole lot of difference in the degree of whiteness. You might see a little more tint from the side in an H, but both G and H face up very white. I wouldn't expect to see lots of tint from the side, either. The I color range is where most people start to notice tint.
