Hello everyone,

My husband and I are purchasing a replacement engagement ring & matching band set as my original was stolen a few months ago.

I am looking at the following setting from B2C:
http://www.b2cjewels.com/Matching-Bridal-Sets/Cathedral-Prong-Set-Diamond-Ring-14K-White-Gold-(1-2-cttw...)-7764-7765-1.aspx

Or the equivalent on Blue Nile, depending on stone purchase:

I am looking at the following stone on B2C:
http://www.b2cjewels.com/dd-1-4014759-0.58-carat-Round-diamond-H-color-VS1-clarity.aspx

Basically I am not sure what to prioritize; colour or clarity...I don't know if there is much point going for an E with a lower clarity or an H VVS2? I am a complete novice in all of this, but have sussed out a few details:

Round Brilliant
Carat: 0.50ct or above (but not much)
Clarity: VVS2 - VS2 (eyeclean)
Colour: E - H
Up to $2,000 on stone.

Any guidance is VERY much appreciated!

Cut should be your priority.

The stone is a little step at 35.5 angle.....

Wanted to give you a few options (all of these are top notch cuts, eye clean, and under budget):

Thank you so much for that - if you were to choose one of the three (using your actual knowledge rather than my guessing) which one would be the best to buy?

If you're trying to maximize size, go for the H.

If .52x is the right size for you, I personally prefer G-colored stones. Color is very much a person-to-person thing. If you want to be safe, and won't have a chance to see different colors in-person, a G-colored stone is a nice choice.
