Is the density of a diamond consistent from one diamond to the next? The reason I ask is that I'm deciding between two diamonds: One's from Roger's Jewelers (same company as Kay and Osterman Jewelers) and one's from Blue Nile. One is .64k and the other is .55k but the .55 is actually a little bit bigger! So, could one diamond be denser than the other or is one company exaggerating/underestimating the weight of their diamond?

Thanks!

the density is consistent. Parameters are not consistent

It's the cut. One diamond is cut with a larger "spread" than the other. This could be good or bad, depending on the mm sizes in question. The 0.64 might be a good depth, and the 0.55 "shallow", or the 0.55 a good depth, and the 0.64 "deep".

Do you have any of the cut specs on the diamonds? Diameter, etc.?
