Wanted to get some opinions on a diamond I'm looking at. All help is appreciated and a thanks to all for the tremendous amount of knowledge I've learned through this site (still a rookie).

Round Brilliant 1.52 carat F/VS1
Triple excellent
Table: 58.6
Depth: 61.8
Crown height: 14.8
Crown angle: 35.2
Pavilion angle: 40.9
Pavilion depth: 43.2
Star length: 50
Medium to slightly thick girdle
No fluorescence
No culet

HCA
HCA 2.8 VG for all
However, as I understand it, if this were a GIA report, which uses rounding, the table would be 59, crown angle 35, and pavilion angle of 40.8 or 41 as a majority of diamonds are graded by GIA. Then, on a comparative basis to GIA, HCA scores would then be 2.1 with PA of 40.8 or 2.8 with PA of 41 (still VG for all).

AGA Cut Calc:
Tab Percent: 1B
Crown Angle: 2A
Crown Height: 1A
Pavilion Depth: 1A
Girdle: 1A
Depth: 1A
Polish: 1A
Symmetry: 1A
Total Grade: 1B

My concerns / questions are the following:
1) table size of 58.6 - is this too large? I know ppl have different opinions on this but wanted to hear your thoughts anyway.
2) Combination of CA of 35.2 and PA or 40.9 - would you consider this steep & deep and any thoughts on light leakage?
3) Anyone with diamcalc that can run this for me? I don't have access to aset or ideal scope images and won't be able to see in person for another week.

Thanks and appreciate it!

I ran it through diamcalc
predicted ags 1-2 border.
I agree with the HCA and AGS scores.
Don't have time to post the pics.

With a 55% table would make AGS0

Thanks Karl. Below are are two AGS charts:

The first is the proportion based chart from '08. With 59 table, 35.2 CA and 40.9 PA it appears to fall within Ideal / cusp of excellent due to the CA.

The second chart is the AGS performance grading system from '05. This one seems to agree with your diamcalc analysis showing between a 1 and 2.

Thoughts on the difference between the '05 grading system and the current proportion based system? Do you think the light leakage would be noticeable? Also, if you or anyone else has the time to post the pics from diamcalc that would be helpful.

Thanks again,

If they have a genrous (30.day) return period with no restocking fee, order it and take a look. Is is likely better than 75% of the stones you'll see in a brick/mortar around your town.
