I was just on the phone to an industry innovator who is now playing with some OctoNus stuff I showed him.
It occurred to me that many Pricescoper's might enjoy this too.

On that page you can download a free diamond cut planning software program that lets you view many proposals for how to cut rough samples.

On this page you can download many 'projects' and see what the various options were and how the highest prices are obtained. It will help you understand why most diamonds are not the best cut - but are designed to achieve magic weights along with the best possible clarity.

It like 3D chess.

You can't play - only observe the plans made by others. But its fun.
Here is a link to plans for 50ct to 2ct rough diamonds. Be sure to check the results in ASET, Ideal-scope etc. And note the way you can see the inclusions in the planned polished.

Thanks Garry, but I have an apple computer.
Do I have to buy a PC to use this?

I thought it was possible to 'upgrade' an apple to an orange Kenny?

PS, before you get in first "you mean a lemon?"

Kenny,

With Boot Camp or Parallels and a copy of Windows, you can run Windows software on your Apple... (or so I've been told by my students who have Apple computers; I don't have hands-on personal experience with that)

Hi Gary,

the diamond we are interested in purchasing has triple excellent on the GIA but there’s no way for us to determine it’s brilliance and sparkle. how would this diamond rate on AGS and is this indeed ‘Excellent’? Could we get your expert advice? We would very much appreciate it.

round
table: 61%
depth: 60.5%
crown: 33
pav: 41.6%
star: 50%
lower pav: 80%

garry has created a tool called the HCA which can be accessed here: https://www.pricescope.com/tools/hca.. It is helpful to some extend if you are buying blind.

Nobody can give you any exact answers based purely on the figures without looking at the diamond in person or via scope data.

Check out your other thread. You were told the stone did not fare well on Garry's HCA tool, so I don't think you'd get different advice from him here.
