So - I relented and finally watched the 'goop' episodes on netflix.
I watch it for entertainment purposes.
However - I couldn't help but appreciate the diamond collar Gwyneth Paltrow was wearing 24/7 in the episodes.

Are there any folks that think Diamond chokers are chic/stylish/classic?
I'm thinking about getting one.
Again - I'm all about consignment or pre-loved jewels.
My budget is around $5k cdn.

I want to purchase classic pieces I NEVER really need to take off of my body. I like wearing multiple necklaces every day.

I don't have an every day pair of earrings yet - I was debating awhile ago whether to purchase van cleef earrings or studs. I decided to pay for some of my master's degree instead :P

My purchase options:

1) diamond studs or some type of classic designer earrings

2) maybe a diamond choker like Gwyneth

3) the bvlgari diva diamond bracelet (something very light and airy to wear every day) with something else.

What do you folks think?

I like living with jewelry that is never removed, but this has only ever applied to earrings - they 'grow on me'! If I could think of any style of necklace that could work that way, it could be a diamond on a short chain, most likely in a rounded bezel [indestructible! - shining from all sides etc.]; IMHO, smallish pendants hanging a finger length below the neck are least in the way [but the only pendant I wear often enough is a heavy thing on a long chain, caveat emptor]

Personally I would not wear any thing I couldn't/wouldn't remove daily. The moisture trapped underneath could cause issues and sleeping and moving around could also cause a problem. For most people it is relatively easy to remove jewelry at night before going to bed and before showering so unless that is a hardship due to physical limitations I would advise removing said pieces for safety and perhaps comfort too. Your skin could become irritated wearing it 24/7 and also, if this matters, sleeping in jewelry is the number one reason of losing gemstones and/or damaging prongs. Plus getting kinks etc in the chain is another potential issue.

Occasionally falling asleep with your jewelry on is fine but wearing it 24/7 for all the reasons I shared above doesn't seem like the best idea. IMO.

I have a diamond choker that I wear everyday and love it. It goes with everything and other than swimming, I don’t take it off. It is round with bezel and I love it.
