what does this exactly mean? is it a benefit to know one and how do they acquire their diamonds? do they make decent percentage and is it worth going thru one?

I am going to say that the stories I have seen here over the years have been very negative for the buyer overall. Most of us who are regulars on the forum came here at first because we were looking for diamonds. I ended up buying that diamond from a vendor I learned about here, and I have bought other diamonds/rings since from other vendors I learned about here. I would never find the same quality locally, and secondly, the prices of mediocre stones locally were as high as the prices of excellent stones I found through online vendors. One advantage is that some of these vendors offer lifetime trade-in policies as well as excellent information proving the cut quality of the stones.
