I have been losing sleep and reading Pricescope :read: until 3 AM :wall:
First time buyer
Finger size 5.5
Budget upto ~ 30k paid pretty much 30k
Priority cut/carat then clarity/color
Eye clean is good enough

I finally found and purchased a great cut / size diamond in my budget but the vs2 clarity but the black? crystals on the table make me really worried. I just want my diamond to be eye clean - which the JA sales person confirmed but still very nervous.
Can I stop losing sleep over this?
Please enlighten me... so I can get some sleep =) THANK YOU!!
If you don’t like this one....can you suggest better alternatives ? after all that is why they have a return policy
**WAS THIS OVERALL A GOOD BUY?**
Also 1.6 mm vs 2 mm setting is 1.6 too thin? I like the dainty look but thought 1.6 was too thin.

My order is

This setting in 6 prong and claw ends

Hi, I’m not one of the diamond experts but remember the diamond when viewed on the James Allen site is at x 20 magnification.
Diamonds are graded at x10.
What you can see with your own eyes at arms length is like less than x5.
So basically when you or anyone look at the diamond they’ll see NO black spots. Too small to see with the unaided eye at normal viewing distance.
And yes, 2mm is the minimum width I’d go with for this size diamond.

Eye clean is eye clean. And often, even when you think it’s a visible inclusion it may be just a reflection of a facet.

And in real life, you won’t be staring at it specifically to look for inclusions. On a Vs2 I wouldn’t worry too much. Wait till you receive the diamond :) exciting

The crystals under the table are small and scattered so most likely you won’t be able to see them without magnification. The specs and price are both quite good! It is an AGS000, which is hard to find unless buying from one of the super ideal vendors! JA has a good return policy so you can always inspect it and return if you are not happy with the stone.

Hi Allen and welcome!

As everyone else has said, the images are greatly magnified and in reality, the chances of you seeing the inclusions are minimal but I won't stick my neck out and say you won't see them with determined observation as much depends on your eyes/ visual acuity and it's a large stone.

However, chances are you'd need a loupe to see the inclusions, it's a gorgeous stone and there's nothing else comparable on JA for the price, unless you want to lower the colour a tad and I wouldn't suggest SI clarities if the VS inclusions are of concern at the moment.

I'd take a look personally, you have a good return policy, my advice is see what you think then if this isn't the one you'll know with no regrets. But give it a chance as I think it could be an AMAZING buy!

Setting, depends on the activity levels of the wearer, with a setting like that you'd need to be careful anyway so I'd go 2mm personally.

I hope we've been able to reassure you between us, now go and get some sleep!:snore:

@Allen james Btw, your post on my thread and my response to it was deleted by admin when I asked admin to move my thread back to SMTB. I am not sure the reason why.

I would see those black spots and it would drive me crazy.

You're welcome, see what you think when it arrives. If it's still eye clean to you but the thought of the dark inclusions still preys on your mind, then consider looking for another but I think for now, all you can do is see it in person.

I think unless you are part eagle you wont be able to see those spots. A lot of people second guess their selection for one reason or another until
they get it and are able to let out a sigh of relief. Hopefully, when yours arrives you'll feel much better! If not, JA has a return policy so shouldnt
be a problem to return and find another stone.

Fingers crossed for you!

Agree with others that the stone will be eye clean...unless you're really looking for it, I don't think you'll be able to see the inclusions easily. I used to have a 1.81 VS2 stone with a few black crystals under the tables that I never saw from the top, only if I was looking from the side about 3 inches away, so it was never an issue. It'll be beautiful!
