Diamond Appraiser on LI

Ok, I''m getting the ring tomorrow. probably giving it to her before the appraisal, I figure everything should come out fine, so why change my plans for a formality??

Now I must pick an independant appraiser... I want one in my area, no shipping out. there are two on pricescope in my area

I spoke to the Jewerly Judge''s office, they seemed nice, didn''t get in touch with gem evaluation labs.

Are either of these posters to the forum? Has anyone had any experience with either of these? I''m looking for on Long Island, not NYC.

Any reason to choose one appraiser over another?
