IF is only "perfect" to 10x magnification. Increase the magnification and you will find stuff.

understandable, I was asking more about the cut of both diamonds.

With princess diamonds you really need images to assess cut quality, and this is why I do not like BN for fancy shapes. If you want a truly perfect cut then you will need to work with a vendor who has the diamond in house or can easily access them to provide cut quality information to you.

you need hearts images.

both looks good from the numbers.

BN does have AGS graded stones, just slim pickings.

will they AGS grade them if I ask? not sure how this works...

both look good, but which one do you prefer? :)

Hm, not sure why I thought they were pricess cuts...

AGS will grade them if you buy the diamonds and send them in for grading. It will cost around $200 I think. But GIA is very reliable, I really don''t think an AGS report will add much.

You know, for that price you could get a stone 2x the size if you went for FVS1

Why do you want it to be AGS graded? What if it comes back less than a AGS000? That is possible with the cut, though I think the signature ideal can get it, not sure about the other GIA stone though.

Prefer the signature ideal, just more information available on the cut and symm than the other GIA stone. That might be as good but no way to tell without images. But with the signature ideal, you will be paying for a hearts and arrows diamond premium without the hearts image to confirm if that is actually so. Maybe you can ask BN for it, but I am pretty sure they will not supply it with the common explanation that customers do not know how to interpret these images.

size is the least important criteria for me. I am looking for the best quality stone I can get for under $11,000, period. How do these stones fair? which one is nicer in your opinion and why?

I asked them for the hearts images...now lets wait and see.

I am very thorough with everything I do. I just figured the AGS grading would add more info to weigh my decision.

I am not dead set on either of these diamonds either, if you folks think I can do better....please advise

Consider buying from a US vendor or is that a no no for you?

Also, AGS000 stone is still going to be slim picking even in the online market.

EDT:
Can't find any online at the moment with images.

Blue Nile is a US vendor, that''s just their canadian site. I have no problems at all buying from a US vendor.

I understand that the type of stone I''m looking for will be slim pickings. That''s what makes the whole process fun!....or I''d just walk over to tiffany''s and be done with it....how much fun is it getting bent over for something inferior? ;)

yap, not finding anything with your specs at the moment from other online vendors.

How''s your time constraint like?

plenty of time...as long as it takes to find what I''m looking for pretty much...

Thank you very much for looking around

It might not come back D IF, either.

exactly Julie, that''s why I always like a second opinion
