Is there a way to tell by the measurements of two diamonds which one will "look" bigger? I have 2 opitions one is smaller but has a lsightley larger able and "excellent" sporead. While the other one is slightly bigger and has very good spread...

Here are the measuremewnts:

1.21 carat 6.86*6.87*4.20

1.18 carat 6.85*6.90*4.13

There wouldn't be any difference between them Suzannea. The HCA judges spread by depth percentages, 60.3% and below normally get Excellent for spread, if you compare the depths of your diamonds, you will probably find one does have a 60.3% or lower depth.

The eye cannot detect a .04mm difference in diameter. They will look identical.

thanks- just the info I was looking for.. 04 MM difference- but the price difference is $600 and all other things are pretty equal.. I think i will go for the smaller one with the bigger table- I think I will be very happy and it is turning out that my Natalie K setting is more than I was hoping it will be.. Not sure how much of abargain I can get from a special order ring from overseas... I am going to check in and see if I can get the setting copied by a custom.. I just love the setting that you all helped me pick out so far lowest price I''ve been quoted is 3200- I was hoping for 2K 2500 MAX.. And I haven''t even begun to ask them to switch the princess side stones with RB.. OH my..
