Could someone please get me a diamcalc and critic on this diamond I am considering:

Star/Upper ratio 52:48
Pavillion angle 40.8 (40.7-40.9)
Pavilllion % 42.9 (2.78mm)

How is this:

diamond20007.jpg

Also when using the HCA, Which numbers do you use for the crown and pavilion?

Depth % 61.2
Table % 56.8
Crown angle 34.4-34.8
Pavilion angle 40.7-40.9
Culet % 0.4

When I use the Crown angle 34.4-34.5 with Pavilion angle 40.7-40.9 the HCA goes from ranges 1-1.5 (which is fine) spread is at very good (light return, fire, scintillation is excellent)

But, when I use the Crown angle 34.6 with Pavilion angle 40.9, HCA goes to 1.6 (still fine) but the spread and scintillation is now at very good. (light return, fire, is excellent)

When I use the Crown angle 34.7-34.8 with Pavilion angle 40.9, HCA goes to 1.8 (still fine) but now the spread, the fire and scintillation is now at very good. (light return is excellent)

The HCA range for this diamond goes from 1-1.8 depending on which set of numbers you use.

The numbers on the grading report are considered those of authority. They are most suitable for an HCA prediction. Bear in mind that any result below 2 is equaly appealing from a light return standpoint: A 1.0 is not 'better' than a 1.8. With regard to creating a DC simulation the basic numbers here are less useful than the actual ideal-scope and ASET images, which show the actual stone.

ideal-scope pic is more helpful.

I can see there is a tiny bit of painting, and the symmetry is excellent, so all up this makes a nice stone which is effectivley a slightly lower HCA score because of the painting
