Phoenix, I think you have a wise hubby! I just can't spend big bucks on purses that will go in the closet after a couple of years!

Well, Madam Bijoux has never married and she has an addiction to diamonds and Hermes.
Logic is telling me that if one has no husband one can have both!

I would also rather have jewels than handbags. As much as I love good leather, diamonds just make me happier. They are not an investment in the classic sense of the word, but I think they maintain their value better than most handbags, except maybe uber-luxe diamond encrusted Birkins, which of course are way out of my price range!
Another plus is that if I grow tired of something, I can just reset it. Can't really do that with a handbag!

I'll try and post them when I get home week after next. I won a Chartreuse FJord green one and a pigskin orange one at the last Christies auction - just Kelly's. I missed out on a red Rouge Garance Kelly because I hesitated for like a second!
Ah well, perhaps I can get a Rouge Garance Birkin at some point later! 
Hopefully, that should complete my collection for a long while.
I saw two young (very young, like in their early twenties) mainland Chinese girls there, clad head to toe in Chanel and carrying the crocodile Birkins - one in amethyste and the other navy blue. The bags were beautiful! Lucky girls!

Your DH in on the right track about getting more jewelry, but he should know that some Hermes bags come with diamond hardware. Also, there are certain Hermes bags you must have for certain jewelry:

Padparadscha Sapphire for the Orange Kelly
For diamonds: Black Box Constance, Kelly or Birkin

For pearls: Himalayan Croc Kelly with diamond hardware
