Design ideas - parcel of four sapphires

I was gifted four princess-cut sapphires many years ago. They're about 2 mm. It would be too easy to channel-set them in a band with diamonds in between. That doesn't make my heart sing. I'm looking for other ideas. What would you do with four little square sapphires? Otherwise, they're going on LT. They've been unloved for way too long.

If the stones had sentimental value to me for some reason I'd set them in a ring: set diagonally, either bezel-set with diamonds in between and milgraining (for a lighter look); or gypsy-set, also diagonally and interspersed with diamonds in a wider, smooth or matte gold band (for a more substantial, somewhat unique look). If they don't particularly have sentimental value... ;))

Randomly bezel set in a Gypsy/dome ring with a few round diamonds for added sparkles?

DK :))

Do you have few diamonds, or can you buy a few? I'd set them with 3 round diamonds in a DBY and alternate them. :wavey:

^ I vote for Gypsy's idea above -

[Disclosure: I also have a small suite of 2.3mm princess-cut Montana sapphires I've been sitting on, and I can totally see them in an alternating diamond/sapphire bracelet - yay, one more setting design selected for 2015!]

Truth be told, no sentimental value. If I can't decide on a design, then they're going on LT.

This is gorgeous but my fingers are a size 5 to 5 1/2. I don't have the real estate to pull it off.

@maryamm too - If the stone were rounds, I'd do this in a heartbeat. However, they're princess cuts, and I'm not sure if I'd like them in a DBY. I need to think about it....

Bump! Any other ideas? I still have the sapphires.

Put them on LT!

I should, but I'm stubborn. I like them so I want to set them. Rather, I'm frustrated that I haven't found a design that makes me want to run out and set them immediately.

What about something like the third band from the top (with better prongs), seven-stone with three princess-cut diamonds?

Or.... sapphire_diamond_band.jpg

Your thoughts?

I like the design on the last ring you posted. :wavey:

It is a nice design, and a sensible choice for a rhr since the stones are protected, but I'm concerned that the sapphires will look overly dark. However, I'm worried about losing stones from a shared prong princess.
