This is quick sketch I just made of my concept. It's the side of ring I don't know what to do with. can this design accomidate cross mount head? (See pic) I think that would solve issue of gap on side (although not too keen on idea) or should that be more design work. My main vision is the window with cross and vines everything else is open for debate. Please share ideas.

Have you looked into working with Green Lake Jewelry Works in Seattle? They produce some amazing custom pieces. And from the drawing you did, it's a style that seems to be right in their wheelhouse. I hopped over to their website and found this:

Looks like it could be an awesome starting point.

When you first mentioned the crossover prongs, I thought it might be a more modern look than your drawing suggested, but this seems to have a nice balance.

ETA: Here's the real life version:

ETA2: I just looked again at your drawing and realized that--unless you have a really wide ring--you may not be able to fit tiny vines in along with the cross... I'm not a designer so I can't say for sure... maybe if it were etched/carved it would work vs. pierced...?

Thanks for input I do want a fairly wide band. Center stone is 1.25ct sapphire and want band to only taper a bit. Think modern and vintage at same time, want nice flowing lines. I did think about engraved vs punched as a solution. I am happy at least you understood what I was attempting to convey with sketch. That means whoever I give to design it will understand my general idea.

Yes, your drawing definitely made sense! For reference, here are a some other looks with vines to narrow down the look you like best:

Raised/fabricated:

Heavy/deep carving:

Lighter engraving:

All fabricated - more organic

Similar design to yours (?) with a sapphire/filigree:

I love their site because they have so many examples. Hope this is helpful!

Thanks for suggesting Green Lake jewlers for inspiration! I took my concept and modified two of their rings to come up with this. Still rough drawing. Any further input from you guys is definatly appreciated. Here is what I used pic #1 is the frame and pic #2 is half bezel setting to make my concept. Anything I may be missing? Should there be vines or a delicate filigree design in gallery?

So, I'm a little confused. In your revision, are you going for more of a solid look like the top example, with the heavy side rails? Or you are thinking fabricated like the flowery one? While their general shapes are similar, they seem like very different rings to me. One is way more feminine than the other. Maybe you are going for something in between?

Ignore the head on this one, but this strikes a nice balance between the pierced design and filigree. Quite feminine but more structured than the flowery one. Is this kind of what you are thinking? (except, with your cross design, of course)

ETA: Of course, if you sit down with a designer, they will be able to give you a better idea of what will work and look best given your ideas. Are you thinking of any specific designers/vendors?

My thought is the the heavier guage open frame of the "flowery" ring without all the flowers just the frame/chassis, and half bezel head only from second ring. My design with window and cross in the "flowery" rings frame. The pic I drew that is a side by side, is what I want. The flowery rings picture by it's side is to show my thought on frame to be used.
I know vines in window with cross prob not realistic, and would most likely be part of frame work around window but its a concept at this point
