I am about to purchase a stone with the following characteristics:

Round
1.24
6.85 x6.84 x 4.26
Color G
SI2 (visible feather near edge that can be hidden by prong)
Total Depth 62.2%
Pavillion Depth: 44.10%
Table Diameter: 59.9%
Girdle: .30mm Faceted 4.4%
Culet Size: small
Crown Angle: 34
Crown Height: 13.7%

My question is whether or not the total depth and the pavillion depth are too high on this stone. The appraiser rated the diamond at a 2B, but it received a high HCA score of 5.5 (I assume this is not particularly good based on the comments it gave of good and fair). The diamond is very white and does have a decent amount of fire. It looks like a good diamond, but my mind starts playing tricks on me when I compare it to other diamonds I have looked at. I just want my fiance to have something she can be proud to wear on her finger. What is your opinion on this stone.Is the cut a deal breaker?

Cost = $4500

Thanks in advance

Autiger, welcome to the forum.

The price sounds reasonable for the diamond. The pavilion depth is indeed a bit deep for ideal cut stone, which causes light leakage under the table. However, total light return is not too bad.
