Hello,
As I read up on diamonds. I understand Table/Depth/Girdle measurements
are important. Maybe too much to ask but is there any quick
rules here I can follow. What to look out for or red flags.
I am interested in approx .50ct diamond. Check out below diamond.

Carat weight: 0.52
Depth %: 60.7%
Table %: 56%
Measurements: 5.19x5.22x3.16 mm
Girdle: Medium
Culet: None

Cut: Ideal
Color: H
Clarity: VS1
Symmetry: Very good
Polish: Very good
Fluorescence: None

The numbers look good so far. Most probably it is a nice stone. If it is ideal cut you probably can also get crown and pavilion angles for this stone. (table and depth alone do not guarantee ideal proportions, see e.g. http://diamonds.pricescope.com/60.asp)

The table and depth %'s fall with in "Ideal" parameters. Typically, diamonds called "Ideal" have Ideal Polish and Ideal Symmetry as well.

Nice Ice has a great Tutorial discussing the proportions to look for in better performing diamonds:

Thanks for info.
