DF - That's an ignorant thing to say. I didn't grow up with both parents. My mom raised all of us alone. I have my college degree. I am a dept head at a reputable company. My sister has two masters and will begin working on her third. My other sister owns her own company. I have never even been pulled over in my 35 years of life. Never been arrested or spent the night in jail and neither have my sisters. While it's probably nice to have two parents in the house, all we needed was one strong figure in our life that pushed us and gave us the drive to succeed.

Hi,

When President Obama took office he said he didn't want to make his Presidency about Race. So, he very importantly wanted to give health insurance to those that had none, black or white, and at least he tried to do that. He appointed many black people into positions of authority so that black children would have inspiration from them, to both see that they could succeed, and would try to succeed.

I do agree that much can be taught in the home to give children a better start and two parents are usually better than one. Yes, it begins at home, and I surely do not think that is at all racist.

Densel Washington is a very nice man. He tells us his mother still scolds him for some things. He donated a wing of a hospital for vets when he just walked through. Densel would be amazed he would be called a racist.
