Delicate Halo vs Standard Halo- What's the difference?

So, my boyfriend just bought the ring (as mentioned and seen in my other post). It is a 2.1 carat diamond with a halo. I don't want it too look to gawdy and I heard people on the forum mention that with a bigger center diamond, a more "delicate" halo is appropriate. Can someone post some photo's of the difference between the traditional or not-so-delicate halo compared to one that might look appropriate with a larger center diamond?

Thanks!

heather-I went back and looked at your post and I think your halo complements the center stone nicely! There are no 'rules' as to what constitutes a delicate halo vs non-delicate...it is all a matter of personal preference. Sometimes larger stones are used in the halo...sometimes smaller stones. Anyway, your ring is beautiful!

Thank you slg! I had been starting to get concerned even though I loved the ring in person that it might appear more like a cocktail ring instead of an engagement ring. I didn't think so in the store but we were originally planning on a more simple setting. (we bought the ring preowned and decided to leave it as is for now). My boyfriend liked the idea of a solitaire because he was afraid that the halo would detract from the center diamond, so when you said it complements it, that is exactly what I was hoping for!

Thanks :)

No honey, your ring is perfect. It really is. Don't worry.
