Anyone know anything about Emerald cut deep blue zircon rings. Period early 1950's

Are you sure it’s natural blue zircon? Most blue zircon are heated treated brown zircon but the resulting colour is more a sky blue than dark blue. It might be something else, topaz or sapphire, perhaps even a synthetic. A lot of the cocktail style rings with the big stones from the 50s and 60s contained synthetic gems, they were very popular, particularly the synthetic alexandrite - a purple red colour.

Could it be a spinel?
