Thanks, Deco! I hope you don''t mind me posting you here...after I posted on your other thread to let you know, I thought about the irony of posting in a thread about a semi-stalker to tell you to go post about yourself in a public forum.....

Just as I suspected....a brainy sassy gal just like your posts! Your snarkiness is right down my alley. Up my alley? You know what I mean. My cup of tea. And all that.

And I also am a watcher-but-not-voter on american idol. Yes, I know Ryan Seacrest is looking right at me when he accuses us slackers of ruining the voting results. But I just can''t do it...especially after being chastised by a Metrosexual Ken Doll like him on live TV. And the idolblog here is proof that there are people who vote enough times for people I prefer to cancel out deadbeats like me.

Ahhhhh....Best in Show....perfection. "We could talk or not talk for hours, and still find things to not talk about."

I just turned 37 and my husband is almost 4 yrs younger, but he''s starting to get grey hair and I don''t have any! The rotten bugger lied about his age...

Aren''t you a fellow "tall" girl as well?? I''m almost 5''10...and I''ll see women and think they''re really tall, then walk past and realize that I''m taller!

I''ve never gotten hooked an AI and only watched the auditions, until we watched Taylor audition and had to check out how well he did! Haven''t missed an epidode since!

Hey RT ... I think the kiwi thing came from a fellow poster who was trying to convince us his Grandma''s special pie (topped with Kiwi slices) was way better than any Lemon Pie. So -- that'' poster''s gramma makes a KILLER Kiwi-ish Pie ... if only he''d come back & post a recipie

Pix of the sparkly can be found here BUT ... it''s been undergoing a Top Secret renovation process that I guess I''ll spill a bit about - as I did on Tierhog''s thread today anyway.

Awww ... sparkly! I miss you so! -- so this is the original design (front view).

-- stone keeps loosening ''cause it''s too big for head
-- prongs are pointy & catch on stuff, causing them to bend
-- prongs stick out too much around stone ... also causing catching
-- stone seems too high for optimal wearing ability

Here''s the side view ... which I really liked, because with all the sparkle etc -- the plain platinum "V" kinda related to my watch & other solid metal jewelry ... OH WELL ... it''s going buh-bye!

You can also see in this view how the prongs come up OVER the stone a touch -- which would have been okay except that they were POINTY shaped (like a snake''s head or something) --AND-- rough textured ... double trouble. As mom used to say "You could put an EYE out with that thing".

Soooo. I was trying to figure out WHAT to do about the "issues" when I saw THIS pix. Started wondering if I could take OFF the old head entirely and have a new "head-type-device" slipped into the "U" shape opening in my existing setting.

Just saw a metal mock up of that on Thursday -- think it might work! -- now being sent off to be cast in platinum, then inserted, milligraned & the stone re-set ... a little lower ... and hopefully producing an overall more user-friendly, strong, lasting, flowy SPARKLY.

BUT with prongs more like THIS ... kind of wrapping around the cut-corners of the Asscher/Sq. Emerald -- instead of the split prongs on the example side view.

This project is being done by Hummingbird Jewelers in Rhinebeck --- which is an awesome local store with their own goldsmith/platinumsmith/designer.

Hiking to NYC everytime to the original jeweler just wasn''t gonna work out long term - and, honestly, I''d lost a little faith in them after the last "failed" fix -- not to mention, wasn''t so keen on their plans for "future fixes" (welding support bars around inside the prongs to keep the setting "square"??) - BLECH.

Wish me & "the sparkly" luck!

Why it's from here ... DIG IN (but save a slice for moi!). That pix was my screen saver back at the start of my Asscher e-ring hunt ... and was almost set on doing a custom version of that exact setting until I realized it wouldn't flatter a 1.5 ct stone the same way it does that 2.37 beaut.

. Think I would've begged my fiance to sell his cars & his gramma to get that had it still been for sale. Good thing for Nana it wasn't!

Any thoughts on the ring renno? I know it's hard to picture

..
