Aw, thanks for asking Skippy. I was punk''d by those darn baby bunnies. That''s my latest update! But, yes, I do enjoy that addictive fluff called "reality tv". I love to guess what America will think & put most of my faith in "like-ability". That strange, elusive, compelling quality that makes people actually pick up the phone & vote. Or, in the case of The Bachelorette, who doesn''t make me want to hurl when I watch them kiss her. HA!

Things are still a bit tweaky over here house-fix-wise! We need to re-paint the "fixed"/currently just primed areas while its still temperate -- which *probably* means we should repaint the whole house.

And with oil prices skyrocketing we''re not so happy to have big $$ fly out the door before the first snowflake falls. UGH. Normally I''d be all up & in this kind of beatification pro-jay-jay but I can''t even get excited about it cuz the $$ stresses me out.

Do we:

Paint just the fixed/primed areas (1/3 of house) to match .... $
Re-paint the whole house original color (white/white trim/green shutters) .... $$$$
Re-paint the whole house NEW color (butter yellow -- or barn red -- or blackberry/white trim) .... $$$$$
Put yucky siding & new windows on the late 1700''s wood frame/original window house .... $$$$$$$$$$$

Ack. What do you think? Want some photos to help decide?

p.s. -- since we first bonded (i *think*) over dress shopping - maybe you''d like news on a couple of fab party dresses I''ve gotten recently! I never ever ever buy party dresses. I think my wedding dress was my only one in a decade or more. But, since you can never find them when you HAVE to find one my sister talked me into getting one we found out shopping when I was visiting her. (She actually treated me to it she felt so strongly about it)

And, whaddya know -- then I had a wedding reception to attend & then SWING DANCE CLASS! Sah-weet. Paired it with a little August Silk cropped black 3/4 length sleeve crew neck cardigan and it looked perfect. The other one was from Anthropologie -- a bit of a splurge & I love love love it. More casual & I''ve worn it a ton already. Mostly with a denim jacket - though my black cardie matches it too.

(Tried to find a pix of the Nordies dress but the must have sold out!)

Do you guys have the utility program where you can have your heating costs spread out over the whole year? That can help but out oil prices are three times what they were four years ago.

Yay party dresses! I just got to accompany our admin on a Nordstroms personal shopper appointment for a party dress. She had nothing, no dress, no uh, garments, no shoes. You gotta snatch that stuff up when you see it! The Anthro dress is adorable! I love the name too.

You and the happy hubby still both working from home? Does that help write off the heating/repair expenses? As much and I''d love to own property, I''d also like to have something older with character and the upkeep is daunting. Some day!

In other me me me news, I got the OK today to have my last meeting for my doctoral dissertation next Wednesday which means I''ll be done sometime this year! Maybe this summer!

I like to have a color no one else has and that will look great in your neighborhood. Is that your house next to the bling or do you have the white primer on your house? I love that bluish purple, vera vera nice!

I do love yellow too. White can look nice as long as there are not a lot of white houses around you, then I love white houses with a red door. Yay for bonus bling!

Seriously. It deserves an awesome paint job, but if you don''t have the cash flow now, just touch it up and go for your dream colors next summer. The house I live in is teal, peach and red. It''s awesome. Are you going to do fun shutters too? That could be a cheaper this-summer DIY.

AW SHUCKS! I''m unsure about the shutters ... -- if we stay white I might go dark purple on the shutters but it doesn''t tickle my fancy really. Part of me thinks shutters are cute & cottageish but part of me wants a more "schoolhouse" look. Kinda like the below pix.

that is something I would do too; I obsess over colors! Oh gotcha, so the white house is yours; I love it!!! It is so beautiful and charming, great yard too

My favorites are the yellow and the purple, I would want the purple though!

It''s a storybook house with dormers (like ours) and just oozing charm.
