I purchased this with an appraisal but no history. Anyone know anything about this style etc? Thanks

What a nice ring! It looks lovely on your hand, too.

Your picture in the RockyTalky forum is much clearer; you might want to post that picture here as well. I am no expert, but your ring appears to me to be from two eras: The 3-stone section looks older and the stones are set in what's known as an "illusion setting," which was very popular from the middle part of the last century (1930's, '40s and early '50s). My grandmother's ring was made in this style. It looks like someone took the top part of an illusion setting and mounted it in a more modern (1960'-'70s?) curved setting. I could be way wrong, but that's what I see from the pictures. Perhaps the metal of the band portion of the original ring wore thin and this was a way to remount the stones without removing them from the setting? Perhaps the original ring was given to someone who did not need or want an engagement ring, so it was reset?

Posting pictures of the ring from several angles would help, and also posting the specs of the appraisal as far as the cut of the stone, e.g., transitional cut, OEC cut, etc.

No idea what it is officially called, but I call it GORGEOUS!

Beautiful, I''m just guessing to me it looks like a three stone bypass ring. Gorgeous.

Here''s another picture. Thanks for the compliments :)

Ooooh, love it! Very cool. Where did you find it?

I really cannot tell you much about the style, but, my FI''s mom inherrited a similar ring from her aunt. Her''s is yellow gold and has bag''s on either side of the 3 diamonds, not rounds, like yours has. It looks great on her hand.
