Hey everyone,

I'm currently trying to decide between these diamonds which I've reserved. The first two seem amazingly eye clean for SI1, with the main inclusions around the girdle, and I feel like I'm missing something obvious. They are not particularly cheap (average prices) but seem nice stones for their grades (around $6k)

Would the locations of the inclusions cause durability issues? James Allen didn't think so.

Both are AGS0 and have HCA scores of 1.5 (G Stone) and 0.7 (F Stone). I'm leaning towards the G as although a slightly worse color, it seems to "pop" more but it may just be the lighting in the images.

Idealscope shows some leakage around the table? Is this a ring of death or acceptable?


Alternatively I have considered dropping down to H color but increasing both Clarity and Size

The crystal does seem to be reflecting slightly around the stone though, even though its VS2.

Can anyone help me choose please as I'm not very decisive

I am leaning towards the G stone but am reluctant because of the lack of idealscope, and will be guided by any advice you could provide

I would worry about that feather near the girdle on the G since it is an SI1.

As in likely to chip? I was hoping to place a prong over it, but will this weaker it further?

Maybe I should just go for the H Colour VS2 then and not worry.

There definitely seems to be a consensus that VS feather near the girdle is fine, but SI1 divides opinion. Everyone agrees I1+ is a massive no no.

Is the H diamond the best choice here despite being 59.9 Depth and 59% table?

Have heard both sides of this before. One would think that if there was an issue with the feather close to the girdle, it would have manifested during the cutting process. For me, if the feather is near the girdle but buried deeper within the body of the stone and not so close to the surface it may be ok, even in a SI stone. Other thoughts everyone?
