I love the look of both of these settings but I'm wondering if I should go for the larger center princess .75 with the 2 smaller side stones? Or the .5 center with bigger sides? Opinions? Center setting seems high on both but I think that will make the stone stand out more?

I like the larger center diamond ring best, especially if this is for an engagament ring. I just think the center diamond stands out much more and I would rather have the larger center diamond with 2 smaller diamonds that 3 diamonds that are all closer in size. It looks more blingy to me.

Or...put all the $$ in a single solitaire for now, and then get a three stone additional ring on an anniversary... I had a setting with a larger center and smaller sides (princess) (like choice #1) and it seemed to detract from the center stone, visually. I think that the 2nd option with all being closer in size looks more like an anniversary ring.

Defnitely go for a bigger stone for an e-ring to start out, or as JJ said start out w/ just a solitaire and add side stones as you go along. Could you even bump up the center stone more?

Proportion wise, I think that the smaller the side stones, the larger the center stone looks.

I much prefer the ring with the bigger center stone and smaller side stones. The smaller side stones make the center stone pop more and make it the star.. The second one reminds me more of an anniverasry ring. Or just spend the money on a bigger stone and add the side stones later as someone before me mentioned.

Another vote for the larger center stone and the smaller sides.

You can''t count on any upgrades. Which ever one you can imagine wearing forever is the one you should get. I like them both, but my personal preference would be for #2 because I have always thought tiny side stones look a bit "off."
