Hi guys,

It's decision time... will be choosing from the following 5 x diamonds below.

There are two are GIA certified and 3 AGS certified diamonds. I'm not sure if better / comparable to the AGS report diamonds below!
My head hurts looking at diamonds over the past few weeks!

Appreciate if anyone is able to run their eyes over the following!

FYI these will be to add to the following ring (https://www.briangavindiamonds.com/...stones/petite-twist-style-pave-platinum-7435p)

GIA report diamonds:

AGS diamonds:
AGS reports available in link - thoughts on the 1st AGS diamond vs other 2 that are $1k more expensive... i question is it worth it, but if the higher value diamonds are a clear stand out then i will definitely consider!!

Thanks for your time:)

This would also be my favorite out of what you have listed.

Thanks a lot guys! How does the BGD signature 6800$ Diamond compare to the one you guys preferred? Extra 1000$ is what I’m weighing up!

Hi guys i went with this one in the end... had to factor in the 10% tax on arrival here in Aus! Thanks all especially Sledge for your time!

You're very welcome. Glad you got to a decision point that made you happy. I bought my wife a BGD stone as well, and we have been very happy. I really enjoyed working with them, although my experience was a little different as I did a custom designed e-ring setting with a different vendor.

As far as why I chose the 1.05, the video spoke to me more. The stone looked more clear and had better contrast to me and I assumed you only listed stones in budget. I wasn't sure if BGD had a bad video or if the twining whisps was creating a hazy look. Point blank I'm not a fan of most SI2 stones, although if I was going to purchase then I'd consider vendors like BGD, WF and HPD who has qualified people to vet the stone personally and give HONEST feedback. Not long ago HPD had an E SI2 that had me all revved up. It was slightly too big for wife's setting as I considered snatching it for myself (well, my wife). So there are some rare SI2 unicorns that exist. They are just hard to find.

Also I'm very picky as my definition of eye clean is no inclusions from 6" on top or sides. Most vendors are 10" from the top only. Hence the reason I was okay with going VS2 for my wife's stone. These are MY preferences and not something others should hold themselves to unless they feel the same and understand the budget implications with such decisions.

Prior to shipping, I'd ask Lesley to confirm the stone is eye clean and has no haze or anything to it. I seriously doubt it. They rarely sell SI2's so this is probably a unicorn find. Again I'm picky and would want the extra reassurance so I had warm fuzzies.

I spoke to Lesley who confirmed that the diamond is eye clean and that there is no negative impact whatsoever on the performance of the stone by any of the inclusions, including the twinning wisps which is reassuring. Lesley also said to say hello and mentioned you purchased a diamond through them! The process has been amazing dealing with them.

I really liked the one you chose also and was my preference but completely forgot the tax component coming back into Aus. Reading reviews of the signature collection that reassured me even the si2 was still a good choice.
Looking forward to seeing it in the flesh!

cheers!

Being an Aussie you may not find Lesley's accent as interesting but being an American I enjoy listening to her speak. She treated me very well when I bought my wife's stone, so I have nothing but respect for her and BGD.

I'm glad she was able to confirm all was good with the SI2. I thought it would be but it's nice to have the warm fuzzies.

Very happy for you! Be sure to post some pics once you receive it.
