Decision Made re. Upgrade

So, I finally made a decision about my stud upgrade, after agonizing over ideal cuts versus super-ideal cuts and the economics of upgrades altogether. Thanks so much to everyone who helped with suggestions! I really appreciate the expertise.

Although most advisors said to go as big as budget would allow and thus lower in colour, I ended up going smaller becasue I have a very thin narrow face so the biggies won't suit me, and they will also be in a substantial bezel. They were also the most inexpensive pair, and just happened to be the same size and colour as my D 0.52 pendant.

They are: 1.12 total weight, D, eyeclean SI2, price $2856.00. This is the setting: http://www.bluenile.com/14k-white-gold-bezle-earring-settings_23977?shape= I'm trying to see if they will do the setting in 18k white gold - currently it's just 14k and platinum.

I'm so excited! I love the setting much better than the earrings I sent back for upgrade. And considering my family, particularly in-laws, are all intellectually snobby about spending money on things like diamonds, (you can tell how well I fit in) I think 1.12 is probably big enough!!

I am so happy for you! You worked hard choosing the best pair for you, and I think you made a good decision based on your preferences. Please post some pictures when you get them!

Thanks DS! They are going to make the setting in 18k white gold but it will take three weeks, and I'm out of town for five weeks anyway. So pics won't come until around mid-April! At least I can dream about them all that time!

I was concerned about getting a good deal, but I think $2,856 is a good price for the size, colour and cut, don't you? And I think $270 is an OK price for the 18k bezel setting too. I've seen bezel settings the same which are $600.
