Deciding if a ring/stone is worth it

Hey folks! I'm looking for a special ring in a modest budget. I've come across this Andria Barbone .74 carat ring which I love but at $7400 it feels steep for what it is. I appreciate not every ring is a good investment, but should it be to some degree? Any thoughts on design, cost, value, appreciated!

This looks like a very high quality ring in a unique setting. Certainly not a bargain but if you love the center stone, I'd say it's worth it. Don't buy a ring as an investment, buy it because it's beautiful and it makes you happy.

Seems pricey to me. And I wouldn’t generally recommend a diamond with 34% depth.

+ a billion. Really lovely setting.

I just watched the vid and it appears to almost have a fish eye due the depth?

Yeah I am nowhere close to clued up on these things but the stone looks as shallow as it is, whereas other 'spready' ones I've seen have better light performance. I think it is so lovely and distinctive but I guess I'm confused what I'd be paying for as I've seen stones of similar or better spec ( granted without as much rosiness) for $1000

From the video it looks like it has a cup underneath to disguise the leakiness of the center. I do love the setting though, just not the center stone.

Paying for the brand and H color with “rosiness.”

This seller generally has very night prices. I’m not sure where the justification is, other than name recognition. The settings are nice but nothing unique or detailed. The diamonds can be located elsewhere for less.

Maybe they would make one for you with a better diamond. I would ask.

I don't understand how it looks that rosy when it's an H color - have you seen the cert and does it have a brown modifier or something? It is a lovely ring, but this particular vendor usually has prices that are quite high.

Nothing I can see on the cert. They have another ring in a similar setting that has a pink plating on the inside of the setting. I don't know if that's the case here as the description is different and suggests it's the stone, but possible.

This is so true. There is a solitaire listed on that site with a very similar diamond to one I own, theirs is two color grades higher than mine and I paid Grace less than half of what they are asking.

They currently have 2 other "Rosita" rings, and the description on one of them says they absolutely used pink gold plating for the color effect. @mags12098, if you like the effect, so many other jewelers could achieve this look for you for less.

This is super overpriced due to the brand name. The diamond isn't well cut and isn't pink at all. They've just used rose gold plating, which many jewelers can do for significantly less money.

Agree. I don't like the cut of the stone. Seems to have a big window. And the pink hue is just from the setting. I'd look for a stone that I love and then design a custom setting in a similar e style (not a copy). I think you would save a lot of money that way and end up with a prettier diamond.

Yep that's what I'm heading for, thanks to everyone who fed in. Have already seen a more promising looking moval to potentially set in a similarish setting. Will share if I go for it, plagued with indecision so who knows.

Good. If you want us to take a look at the moval, post photos here. Not an actual link unless you can put a hold on it, as nice movals are hard to find and lurkers can grab them. I love the setting you posted, and you could have something like that made, with some changes, so it's not a copy of the designer, for a pretty reasonable price.
