the stone is a shallow/shallow combo.

shallow/shallow ... this has to do with the angles correct? Is this a bad thing? I guess what I''m asking is ... at least just looking at the stats on paper vs the price - a good deal or no? The main thing for me is the stone being eye-clean, and having decent light return, so assuming it looks good to my eye in hand I will probably keep the stone. Perhaps I could have done better?

Thanks again

Jesbo,

How about this stone, if it's eye-clean (and it looks like it could be from the cert):

.52, H, SI2 AGS000

It's an AGS Ideal, and it gets a 1.3 on the HCA, which is excellent.

When you get your BN stone, check if it's eye-clean. If you go outside when it's cloudy, the light return will be much less intense and might not cover up the inclusions. Look at it from arm's length away. Observe its brightness. Bring it closer until it gets dark. If the point where it gets dark enough to stop looking good is in normal viewing distance, you might want to consider returning it. If you do, here's an option for you:

Inclusion at 3:30...call WF if it is eyeclean
.52 H SI1, 1108 with PS discount.

Julie, thanks that stone looks nice as well. Is there that much of a difference between that one and the one I chose? I think the one I chose scored below a 1 on the HCA. What if anything don''t you like about it?

thanks

I think yours scored .6 HCA, going by memory. We say 0-2 is good, but there are some usage guidelines. A shallow pav angle, (40.6 is slightly shallow) may mean that when viewed closely, such as your head blocking a light source, the diamond will look dark.

It would be better as a pendant or earring. It is also more suited for a fair, blonde wearer. (Someone who is wearing black is basically blocking a lot of light.)

Please watch the "Head Obstruction" video, which illustrates this. http://diamondscope.pricescope.com/
