Pics or links would be helpful.

Brilliant Rose is a round brillant and has 66 facets. It is graded by GIA.

Destinee is a round brilliant and has 57 facets. It is graded by AGS.

Destinee 10 is not a round brilliant. Can''t recall how many facets. It is graded GIA.

All these cut command a premium price in Singapore.

the destinee10 design is an ideal cut diamond. which means there''s 58 facets.

cheers.

In my opinion, they are overpriced and a total waste of money. For a similar budget, you might as well go to Tiffany''s for their solitaires or Larry''s for their Lazare diamond. They are priced with the same premiums.

Alternatively, look for a good jeweler and get a diamond with specifications of round ideal cut and save 30-40% of the price you get for a Tiffany''s, Lazare, Brilliant Rose or Destinee.

Another alternative will be look up a reputable website such as Whiteflash for a suitable diamond. A lot of people here on the forum here can help you out.

I had trouble finding prices on the website......Cant comment on prices!!

As far as the diamonds, the one I could actually see, appeared to be a Hearts and Arrows cut diamond that is BRANDED.

Give us the specs and prices of a Brilliant Rose and a Destinee, and we can compare them to an ACA.

Hi Iced, I believe most here would not be familiar with these cuts are they are sold only in limited countries. I found these links on them

http://www.destinee.be/descollection.html
http://www.brilliant-rose.com/

I have seen the diamonds for myself and I personally think they are overpriced. Just do a Cut Quality Search (for they are pretty decent cuts) using the "Pricescope your diamonds" tool above and you can get a rough gauge of what you should be expecting to pay for a diamond with the specs you are looking for. With the knowledge you can gain from this site by reading the posts and tutorials under "Knowledge" above, I''m sure you will be able to find a comparable or even more beautiful stone for the same price you would pay for these "branded" cuts at online vendors or even a "normal" jeweler. I did this and I couldn''t be happier with my e-ring.

If you have to have a branded cut, how about looking at Lazare by Larry''s or Tiffany''s as Simply Splendid suggested? Some other options if you are in Singapore (and I''m assuming you are) are Hearts on Fire at Tianpo or Cartier or Gabrielle at Charlotte Atelier. Apparently the famous Eight Star diamonds (http://www.eightstar.com/) are also carried at a shop in Raffles Hotel although I have yet to verify this for myself.

Another thing you may wish to note is that some of these branded cuts have extra facets. You may or may not like the look as compared to a H&A diamond. Someone posted a pic of a few diamonds with extra facets alongside a H&A diamond which was fascinating. Unfortunately I can''t find the link.

Oh yes, before I forget, I think there is also the question of whether a particular vendor offers an upgrade policy (i.e. you can exchange the stone for a bigger one at a later date). I believe Soo Kee and Lee Hwa have this, as do some of the online vendors. If you are planning to upgrade at a later stage, this is something you may wish to take into account.

Good luck with your search!

the local brands are not similar in prices. in fact..they r higher!
recently when i was shopping for diamonds. i went into tiffany''s,their .4carat / G / vs1 cost around $5600 - $6000.
then i went into GoldHeart and a similiar spec cost around 8k.

i think the higher premium is because most local brands have a policy which allow you to ''upgrade'' ur diamond bought from
them within a 2 yr period. so u can buy a ring, then pay abit more after 2 years and get urself a new one.

i think its bullshit..

Hi, I would recommend Canary Diamond Company at delphi orchard as they have a very good range of stones available, all with very good cuts. However, the challenge with walking into any jewelry shop without a regular accompanying you is that you are unlikely to get the best quotes that a regular would. For the best/biggest diamond for a budget, I strongly recommend buying online from some of the recommended vendors here.
