Saw this diamond in blue Nile and need some opinions if this is a good price
It is 0.41 carat emerald cut j color vvs1 clarity and seem to have excellent cut and proportions (table and depth are both at 63%)

Anyone has something similar size and a photo in their hand ?

We need to see images of the actual stone, since fancy cuts cannot be purchased based on the numbers alone

Do you need such high clarity? Emeralds dont face up very big, so you could likely increase ct weight by lowering clarity to eye clean SI1 or vs2. if this is for an engagement ring then make sure that your partner is ok with a relatively dainty stone and is not color sensitive, since a J will have some tint to it.

Not really particular with clarity

just been scouting good priced stones and this came up to be few hundreds cheaper than most comparable

what can you say about the price

is it considered loWer for the stone such asthis?

I thought emerald cuts need to have higher clarity

Thanks for your input

Also I’m not using for an engagement ring
Just for fun I’m or upcoming projects

I’m mostly scouting good deals for materials and making them into a men’s piece for myself mostly

Clarity for step cuts is important. The type and locations of the inclusions affect performance and obvious carbon inclusions directly under the table are tough to “unsee”.
The size of the stone will dictate how noticeable those inclusions will be.
In a stone this size, you are more likely not to see inclusions without a magnifier.
You could go up in color or size and drop to VS-SI clarity, and still have a quality stone...around the same price point.

The center appears static in the video; no movement of the facets around the center, which will produce an “all on” and “all off” performance in that area, depending on the angle and lighting.
At this size, it may not matter to you...

Yeh, its not really doing what we want an emerald cut to do under the table. We want the steps to flash on/off. This stone is not
doing it. I would keep looking. Concentrate on finding a stone that performs well, then consider the cost.

This link shows you what the size looks like on a size 6 finger so you can get an idea of its relative size.

Yes to a certain extent, my 1.19ct E is a VS1, and I had difficulties locating the inclusion using a 20x loupe myself!
