DBTY Bracelet with larger stones? Yes or no?

Hi! My birthday is coming soon and I try to decide how to spend my 2013 bling budjet
I really need help with DBTY bracelet that I would like to add to my DBTY necklace. I really like how larger diamonds looks in DBTY style and this type of setting is actually so perfect for my very casual lfestyle. My concerns are: i do not own any bracelets and have never worn one. So I thought DBTY style fit the bill here as I read that they are almost airy on the wrist, but who knows if I like anything at all on my wrist??
The second concern is larger stones,, 4 mm each, about 0.23ct, I would like 5 of them on 6inch bracelet. Would they be too uncomfortable for everyday wear? Would larger culets be Safe?

I have seen Enerchis fabulous RG OEC DBtY bracelet, wow and it is also with larger stones. What do you think, Enerchi, is it everyday piece for you?

If I decide to go with this project, I would like to work with BGD again, as I absolutely adore their bezel quality. The bracelet will be in platinum, but I still have concerns about thin chain. For a necklace I am fine with 1 mm chain, but for everyday bracelet should I request 1.5mm chain, or the look will be ruined?

Yes, I take it off only to clean but its my everyday piece for sure!! I love it!! It sparkles like mad in the sun, it works so well with the original DBTY I purchased from Sarahbear in WG and its very comfortable. My sizes range from .17 - .23/.25 (I think --- zero memory skills - sorry!!) and the colours are all over the place too, but I just ADORE this bracelet!!

The chain is a tad thicker than the WG one, which was made by BGD, and the IDJ bezels are different from the BGD bezels, but both are just as comfortable and sturdy.

well, they do poke every now and then, but nothing too uncomfortable or to stop me in my tracks!! The price of beauty LOL!! If I purposely squeeze my hands around the DBTY and push, yes, I feel them, but on a normal day to day basis, I don't notice them at all. The bracelets are so light, you don't even know you are wearing them.

It generally sits at or just slightly dropped down from the bend in my wrist - depending on how hot and swollen I am at the moment!! (getting older is not for the faint of heart... just sayin'!)

hehehe I giggle reading E's response because I'm scarred from that same DBTY!! And litterally I mean I have scars!

Just to add- I love wearing DBTY (bracelet or necklace) and I think they are a staple piece and definitely worth it. However if you do a larger size I would either go a bit longer in length so the cutlet doesn't rub against you and make sure to NOT stack it with a bangle. The reason why I sold my DBTY bracelet is when I got my Love bracelet the DBTY kept getting tangled up and it would slice my wrist up in a few places when it got stuck between my love and my wrist. I should also mention that I'm klutz and awkard at the best of times so that might have also been my downfall.

So if you go bigger don't stack and perhaps put in a little extra room to allow the cutlet to not slice and dice you.
I miss my DBTY, but DH would kill me if I didn't wear the Love.

I would also request a quote from ERD. I have a 1.4 ctw DBTY necklace with 7 20 pointers, white gold and I LOVE it! F/G VS melee is what they use. I would say that they were a couple hundred more than IDJ, but a LOT less than BGD

I remember reading about your scars, Sarahbear that is exactly why I worry about larger culets. Thankmyou for your tip about letting some room for the lengh. Hmmm...I thought it would be better to have it really snug, to prevent pulling and destroying the chain. Now I really need to think very hard what length to order. This will be my first bracelet ever, so I hope I like it solo, didnt think about stacking.. Hehe

Good point about ERD. I, however, already purchased some stones from BGD and would like to have the same bezel quality as my necklace. Probably go with them this time too. They are cirtainly more expensive than the other vendors, but they have always delivered best for me, so I have no worries.. Have you posted about your necklace? I would love to see it!

When I say a little extra room I mean 1/4 on an inch so just a little. I had a single DBTY with a yellow sapphire that was around .90ctw and it really helped to just have it a bit longer. It gave the bracelet room to move when I hit it. If it was tighter it would have just gone straight into my wrist.

Have you tried on different sizes yet? I had my .90ct (single stone), a .40ctw (4 stone) and then my .50ctw (7 stone) and I have to say the difference between my .40ct and .50ctw was so small. The bezel is actually thicker on my .50ctw so each individual diamond looked bigger then on my bracelet which had larger diamonds. I think it might be an option if you want something bigger but are worrying about the cutlet taking a chunk out of you.

Then the other option is- I'm causing you worry for nothing because you are probably a graceful human being who doesn't have a problem walking across a flat subtle surface like I do- meaning you will have no issue with it regardless of size.

Your wish is my command! I started a thread - I've had these darn pics for over a year now, but you motivated me to finally do something with them. I'm not so great at taking bling pics with an iPhone, but you can get an idea of ERD and IDJ bezels.
